Engagement Delivery

Stakeholder Communications

Platform work fails when technical progress is invisible or framed in a language stakeholders cannot use. Communication should make decisions, risks, and tradeoffs clear.

Audience map

Different audiences need different signals.

  • Executives need risk, investment, outcomes, and decisions required.
  • Product leaders need delivery impact and customer risk.
  • Engineering leaders need sequencing, staffing, and adoption plans.
  • Security and compliance need control posture and evidence.
  • Application teams need workflow changes and support paths.
  • Finance needs cost drivers and allocation signals.

Weekly update format

Use a consistent weekly update during active engagements.

## Summary

One paragraph on overall health and progress.

## Completed

- Outcome-focused bullets.

## In progress

- Current work, owners, and expected finish.

## Risks and blockers

- Risk, impact, owner, and needed decision.

## Next week

- Planned outcomes.

Decision communication

When a decision is needed, state:

  • Decision required.
  • Recommended option.
  • Alternatives considered.
  • Impact of delay.
  • Owner or approver.
  • Date needed.

Escalation

Escalate early when ownership, access, budget, policy, or cross-team coordination blocks risk reduction. Escalation should be specific and actionable, not a vague complaint that teams are blocked.
